...winter storm warning remains in effect until 12 pm est wednesday...
a winter storm warning remains in effect until 12 pm est wednesday.
a major winter storm is ongoing across the region...and will continue into wednesday
morning. snow will remain heavy through tonight. some of the heaviest snow will
be late this afternoon and this evening when snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per
hour are possible. storm total snowfall accumulation of 10 to 16 inches are likely
with this storm. a few places may see up to 20 inches.
sleet will likely mix in with the snow south of a akron to youngstown line...reducing
snow accumulations some.
northeast winds will gust to near 30 mph tonight into wednesday...
creating considerable blowing and drifting snow. wind chills will also drop to
10 below tonight.
a winter storm warning is issued when severe winter weather is expected. heavy
snow and/or ice will cause hazardous driving conditions. travel is not recommended
on today and tonight. stay tuned to noaa weather radio and other radio and tv
