Accuweather Desktop, is a free download that enables you to have the most current radars, conditions, and forecasts for your specific region setting right on your desktop. You have the option to keep it maximized on your desktop, as it appears as a long column, or it can be minimized to a small button displaying the temperature and a graphic of the current conditions. It can be maximized again with the click of the button. In either state, you have the option to visit the Accuweather web site, going directly to more weather information, including your 15-day regional forecast, hour-by-hour forecasts, and even Streaming Video, and iSight Weather Cams!

Another feature that Accuweather provides for you is a temperature icon that sits on your toolbar in the right hand corner, making it convenient to go about your computer business, and yet have a hint of what the weather is like without even having the whole Accuweather Desktop program maximized.

Another feature of Accuweather Desktop is its warning system for threatening weather. If a weather advisory is issued for your area, a crack of thunder sounds, and the temperature icon in the toolbar turns red.
